It is important to show up to a model casting looking natural, your clothing should be simple and makeup and hairstyling minimal, but do you know what you need to bring with you to a casting? Casting calls can be a nerve wracking experience for most new models. You’ll want to do as much research as possible on the specific casting you are going to attend and check to see if there are any specific requirements for things you should bring with you or clothing you should (or shouldn’t) wear.
Aside from specific requirements, here are a few things you should always have with you when you go to a casting call.
1 - Your Book (Modeling Portfolio)
2 - Makeup kit or Palettes
3 - Skin toned and Black undergarments
4 - Flat shoes, sneakers and heels
5 - Hair products
6 - Cellphone charger
8 - Notepad, pen and paper
7 - Healthy snack, Bottled water and a Book to occupy yourself
There is a lot of competition in the modeling industry, so you can expect to see at least a handful of other girls at the model casting. However, there could be up to two or three hundred others auditioning for the same show or campaign as you. That means the wait could be anywhere between five minutes to five hours. That is why you should bring water and snacks to stay hydrated and carry along a book to read so the time passes by more quickly.
